WOLF PACK SEEKS HEAD COACH - Position has been filled
 
The Calgary High Performance Rugby Association is responsible for the organization and management of the Prairies Team. The CHPRA is recruiting to the position of Head Coach for the Wolf Pack. This individual will be an accomplished coach with a track record of working successfully with players and coaching/support staff. Working closely with prairie province high performance staff and coaches, this individual will play an important role in maximizing the linkage between high performance development programs and the Rugby Canada National Senior Men’s Team.  The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and will work closely with the Rugby Canada High Performance Director and National Senior Men’s Team coach. This is a volunteer position.
 
Candidates must:
·         Possess current coaching accreditation (NCCP or an internationally recognized equivalent)
·         Have current experience coaching at performance or high performance level
·         Have maintained a history of attendance at coaching clinics, workshops and seminars and must be able to support with documentation
·         Demonstrate a commitment to the development of the game and support for high performance initiatives
·         Be a self-starter; demonstrate the capacity and history of performing in settings where initiative and leadership are critical competencies
·         Demonstrate a positive an d professional attitude
·         Possess excellent people skills, work well within a team environment and be able to guide and mentor colleagues and players
·         Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills
·         Possess a thorough knowledge of the laws of the game
·         Have the ability to analyze performance and provide verbal and written feedback to players, coaches and support staff

WOLF PACK SEEKS MANAGER - Position has been filled
 
The Calgary High Performance Rugby Association is responsible for the organization and management of the Wolf Pack. The CHPRA is recruiting to the position of Manager for the Wolf Pack. This individual will be an organized individual with a track record of working successfully with players and coaching/support staff within a representative program. Working closely with Wolf Pack coaching team and the CHPRA committee, this individual will play an important role in coordinating the administrative, finance and logistics functions for the Wolf Pack.  The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, strong organizer and will be responsible for ensuring that the team has the required resources to meet its goals. This is a volunteer position.
 
Summary:
This position is responsible for the smooth running of all activities supporting the team other than the technical aspects – it includes but is not restricted to player welfare & discipline, team travel, accommodation, gear issue, equipment availability, team records, match and competition reports.

Responsible for: Support staff appointed to the Wolf Pack
 
Role:
1.      Responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the procurement of travel, meals and accommodation for the team. The manager will keep accurate records and will work within established budgets.
2.      Be thoroughly familiar with the team charter, rules of the competition; including Anti-Doping guidelines, reporting, testing and documentation.
3.      Brief players about the code of conduct and the Club’s expectations both on and off the field. Incidents and indiscretions that need to be brought to the attention of the Team Coach or CHPRA Committee must be raised promptly. Manage any issues that may arise amongst plays, coaches, officials and supporters.
4.      Ensure player gear and training/warm up equipment as required by coaching staff is available and in good order. Liaise with opposition management/facility manager about warm up areas, team changes and first aid facilities. Liaise with opposition management/facility manager to resolve any difficulties.
 
 
 
5.      Post match, complete team sheets, follow up completion of competition report and submit to appropriate officials; collect video tapes; collect gear required for cleaning and all equipment.
6.      Ascertain the extent of any injuries with team physio or doctor and monitor rehabilitation needs. Organize the availability of insurance forms where necessary and explain procedure with the player.
7.      Advise players about training schedules and any variations to competition match times or venues. Attend all training and competition matches.
